River Derwent recorded his second win here in the space of 48 hours when taking the Book Online At DundalkStadium.com Claiming Race.
The Dick Donohoe-trained gelding came out on top when striking the front late on in first-time blinkers on Wednesday and again challenged on the favoured stand side.
James Ryan ’s mount, an easy to back 7/1 chance, kept on well inside the final furlong to get the better of Notforalongtime by a neck with The Cola Brasil just a head further back in third.
The son of Kingman has proved a great money spinner for connections on the polytrack this winter season and has now won three of his last five starts all over seven furlongs since late November.
Donohoe said, ""He came out of the race lovely the other night and I was always going to let him run there.
"There's a chance he will be claimed now - I put in a friendly claim, but I'm sure there will be one or two others.
"Those low-grade horses, they come into form and they go out of form. That's the way it works. He battled on really well. It is not easy to win anything, so I am delighted with that.
"In fairness, the starter let him go in late again today which is a huge help and the blinkers helped too as he lost five or six lengths a couple of days in a row."
The winner was later claimed for €8,000 by Thomas Coyle while Might And Mercy (finished 12th) joins Gerry Keane for €4,000.
Michael Browne put in a friendly claim of €9,000 for The Cola Brasil.
