After Kanes Pass won recently, Willie McCreery said "she's by a very nice sire in Clodovil," and the Rathasker Stud sire (7,500 Euro 2013 fee) is responsible for another decent filly in Right Up My Street who made a good debut when landing the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden at Tramore.
Danny Grant is in red-hot form since returning to the fray and the local rider would have approached this mile and a half contest in a confident frame of mind as winning trainer Pat Flynn made no secret of the fact that he liked the three-year-old well in advance of her career start-off.
Indeed Right Up My Street was supported from double figure odds 'in the shops' into a starting price of 5/1.
She led from the front-running Stepping Down (hung off the home turn) over a furlong out before going away inside the last to prevail by three and a half lengths.
The pair at the head of the market, Another Charm and Nurse Ryan disappointed their backers, managing only third and fourth respectively.
Flynn, accompanied by his son Mark, commented: "That's great now. She's a very nice filly and she could be listed class. She's very closely related to French Ballerina (Flynn's brilliant mare of the past).
"She'll go for a winners of one now and hopefully it'll be onwards and upwards from there. I wasn't sure about today but we've always thought a lot of her.
"We've given her time though." (DM & EM)
