Gee Rex got on top in the closing stages to land the opening claimer at Dundalk for Joseph O'Brien.

Mikey Sheehy delivered the 7/2 shot to challenge inside the final furlong and he put his head in front in the closing stages to post a length success over Moving Forward

The Requinto gelding was recording his third career success having joined the O'Brien yard this year.

“He broke slowly and I was further back than I would have liked. Thankfully they went hard and he cruised into the race,” said Sheehy.

“He stuck at it well and was a nice winner at the line. He's improved a helluva lot and that's three he's won for us now. He's improving the whole time.”
