Red Letter Bray, a surprise 100/1 winner at the Curragh on his recent stable debut, looks set to be stepped up in trip for his next start.
The son of New Bay was a huge outsider when striking on his first start for trainer Liam Cusack in a premier handicap over six furlongs at the County Kildare track last Friday evening.
Reflecting on that success, Cusack said: "It was brilliant to win at the Curragh and he came out of the race well.
"It was his first run for me and we felt we had him in good nick but I've nothing to work with him at home. I trained him a bit like a jumper, to be honest, with plenty of slow work.
"Three-year-old sprinters can get a little bit lost and the more mature horses will do them, so he's strengthened up a bit at four. He took a blow but battled to the line and he'll probably improve for the run.
"He's gone up to 94 now. I've been looking at the programme book but it's hard to find a race for him. A lot of races are three-year-olds only or for fillies. There's the Rockingham Stakes over five furlongs but I think it's up in trip I should be going rather than back.
"He might have to travel. We'll give him a few weeks anyway before his next start."
