Red Glory on target for de Bromhead & Blackmore Red Glory (4/1 joint-favourite) took the KPH Construction Handicap Hurdle for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore. The Harzand gelding, owned by the Garristown Aintree Syndicate, had been placed on his previous three starts and was prominent throughout. Having gained a narrow lead after the second-last, the six-year-old was strongly pressed at the last by Chatterbox but fended off that one's challenge by half a length. The runner-up had filled the same position in a Flat handicap at this track the previous evening. “That’s a great result," said Blackmore. "He’s run well his last two runs without getting his head in front, so it’s great to get him to do that today. His jumping has improved with every run, so that’s becoming a bit of an asset to him now. It’s great to see that, and hopefully he will build on today. “He wasn’t bred to go jumping but he seems to be taking to it better with every run, so that’s a big plus. This is his time of year, and I definitely think he will improve.” Quotes from Tom Weekes
