Ravenhill made it four wins from his last six starts, as he ran out a good winner of the Sign Up For A Tote Account Beginners Chase.

Successful over flights at Downpatrick, Killarney and Sedgefield, the Gordon Elliott trained nine-year-old was last seen finishing third to stable mate Count Simon at Down Royal earlier this month.

Making his racecourse debut over fences this evening, having previous won a point-to-point when trained by George Stewart, the son of Winged Love was sent off the 5/4 favourite.

Settled behind the leaders, the bay victor eased to the front before two out and soon drew clear, going on to score decisively by nine lengths under Davy Russell. Steelambition (33/1), who had led for much of the contest, battled on gamely to take second under Paddy Merrigan for Paul Flynn.

The Joseph O'Brien trained Jack Dillinger who was backed from 11/4 to 9/4 on-course, was a disappointing fourth.

Ian Amond, Elliott's assistant, said afterwards: "He won well in the end. I thought turning in that he might be in trouble. Ideally he wants a bit further and there is plenty of fun to be had with him during the summer."

The winner is owned by the Try Ravenhill Syndicate.
