The going ahead of this afternoon’s meeting at Navan is now yielding to soft following 10mm of rain and the forecast continues to be unsettled due to the influence of Storm Babet.

Further showers are expected at the County Meath venue during the day and may turn heavier this evening with approximately another 5-10mm of rain.

There are 136 declared, plus reserves, on this eight-race card with the action getting underway at 1.15.

Local trainer Mick Mulvany has struck twice already this week with Rough And Tough scoring on consecutive days at Gowran Park and Rathbranchurch has attracted support in the five-furlong Blackcastle Handicap.

The Mulvany-trained gelding won here earlier this month and again went close on testing ground at the Curragh last week.
