Quick cross-card double for Gigginstown and Elliott There was a quick across the card double for Gigginstown House Stud and Gordon Elliott with Sometime Soon supplementing Blow By Blow's Galway gains, winning the Casey Cattle Slats Maiden Hurdle at Wexford. It was a 1-2 for the powerhouse County Westmeath-based owner as well experienced track performer and former 'pointer' Sometime Soon beat another promising sort from 'between the flags,' Notebook, by half a length. Rachael Blackmore rode Notebook for Henry de Bromhead, whilst it Keith Donoghue that had Sometime Soon up there throughout. "He was just idling a bit in front. I knew when I hit the front and went for him that he was just doing enough," reported Donoghue. "He was always going to hold on. "It was good to get the win today and he'll come on a lot for that. There will be plenty more to look forward to over longer distances. "I haven't really been riding much over the summer, I was just giving my body a chance with the weight. "It's good to get a winner now at the start of the winter so hopefully I can keep it going." (DM & EM)
