A well backed joint favourite, the Adrian Murray trained Queens Fury landed the plunge in commanding fashion when readily winning the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Dundalk.
Initially priced up 4/1 second choice overnight, a flurry of money saw the vastly experienced daughter of Blue Point quickly cut to half those odds. Sent off 13/8jf, the Colin Keane partnered filly proved far too strong for fellow market leader Mveve in the race itself.
Sitting second from the outset, Queens Fury tracked pace setter Parnu over the first half-mile, before moving up to take over entering the straight.
For a few strides, Mveve briefly looked a threat when going second under Declan McDonogh but her short lived effort was done with over two furlongs out.
Queens Fury went clear under the reigning champion jockey to record an easy two-and-a-quarter-length win over the staying on Ardagh Red
Mveve weakened close home to finish third.
Adrian Murray said: "She's been running in tough company all year.
"She did (enjoy it today) and it is the first day that I saw her that she was really relaxed.
"She has had a tough campaign all year and she merits her mark, certainly now anyway.
"We are delighted with that.
"I'll have to check with Kia and Robson (if she will run again in Dundalk this year) and see what they say."
On the runner-up, he added: "A nice, lovely horse. I think we will get a maiden into him before the end of the year.
"We trained his dam (Sister Anne) as well, she was a very good mare and by Distorted Humor.
"He will improve plenty for greenness."
