The two Henry de Bromhead-trained runners fought out the finish in the mares handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe with Cobra Queen proving best down the straight. Ring O Roses led after the second last in the two-mile-six contest but was joined over the final flight by her stablemate.

It was the 7/2 shot who found a bit more for Rachael Blackmore in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter win.

The winner was recording her second success in three runs having scored at Cork in July before chasing home Hidden Land at Downpatrick last month.

Blackmore said:- “She swishes her tail but that’s just what she does. She was good there and toughed it out.”
