Queen collects in style Getwaway Queen backed up a good run at Dundalk five days ago when making a winning breakthrough at the course this afternoon. The Getaway mare had finished a close third to Spelga over the extended ten furlongs last Friday and upped to a mile-and-a-half again ran out a convincing winner. Conor Hoban's mount travelled stylishly to lead a furlong-and-a-half from home and stuck on well in the closing stages to post a two-and-a-quarter length win over Thefaithfulindian. The Ken Budds trained winner, returned an 11/2 shot, was racing from a lowly mark of 38, 7lb out of the handicap proper. Hoban said afterwards:- “That was very straight forward. She got a nice position from a wide draw and she travelled into the race. “When I gave her a squeeze she picked up and went about her business well. You would like to think she can pick up another one here over the winter. “Wayne Lordan rode her the last day and he gave me plenty of advice about her. “She got the mile and a half well. She’s a very honest mare and goes well on the surface.” (Quotes by Alan Magee)
