The John Queally trained Jet Setting Jim came forward from his recent jumping debut at Killarney to run out a game winner of the Join The Listowel Races Supporters Club Maiden Hurdle at the County Kerry track.

Third on his introduction over flights last month, the former bumper winner showed nice improvement to get off the mark at the second time of asking.

Prominent from the outset, Michael O'Sullivan tracked leader 11/10f Syracus Du Houx throughout. As the latter made a mistake three out, O'Sullivan loomed up travelling well to throw down his challenge entering the straight.

Another less than fluent leap at the penultimate flight left Syracus Du Houx in third, as Jet Setting Jim took over from the staying on Pahlavi

The latter led briefly between the final two hurdles but Jet Setting Jim showed plenty of resolution to regain the advantage on the run-in.

John Queally said: "He had a bumper winners' penalty to carry but that bit of nice ground wouldn't both him. He is a big chaser in the making.

"Finbarr Walsh, from Riverstick near Kinsale owns him and we didn't think beyond today."
