Quartz battles back to land nursery Black Quartz produced a game front-running performance to defy top-weight in the EBF Premier Nursery under Johnny Murtagh. Corcovada came with a strong run to dispute inside the final furlong but was just edged out close home by the 4/5 favourite. "It was a good performance to win carrying top-weight," said Murtagh afterwards. "He's a fine big horse. When the other horse came at him he fought back well."
