La Vita Nova showed the benefit of her eye-catching debut at Navan last month when taking the Savoy Collection Median Auction Fillies Maiden at Limerick.
The daughter of Gleneagles, trained by Jessica Harrington for William Crager, finished well over ten furlongs on her first outing and relished the extra furlong here.
The 4/1 chance made headway in the straight under Ronan Whelan to lead over a furlong out and kept on well to beat Cancelled by three-quarters of a length. Declaree was a further two lengths back in third.
Whelan said, “She got a lovely introduction the first day and you could see the step up in trip would suit her.
“She loved the ground and was still a bit green when she hit the front.
“She’s really stepped forward from her first run and is a lovely filly. I think those better races where they go along might suit her.
“It’s great to get that winning bracket for her and Jessie and the team will decide where she goes next.”
