Profit Margin is good at Cork Oliver McKiernan's Profit Margin, winner of a 'point' and a faller at the last with the race won on another occasion, made his second racecourse start a winning one in division two of the Irish Racing Yearbook Maiden Hurdle at Cork. Paddy Flood was content to let others make their move before him as they approached the straight but he had the most left at the business end as he accounted for Stephanie Kate by a length and a quarter. McKiernan said: "After all the snow we've had for the last fortnight he was only on the walker as there is still six inches of snow on our gallops. He got to the Curragh last Thursday for a canter - so that must be the way to train these horses! "He looked to be fit enough there but he is that type of horse anyway – he doesn't carry much condition. The trip there was a bit short for him but that was a good test for him with the likes of de Bromhead's horse (House Rules) in there."
