Primrose gives rivals the blues Willie Mullins inevitably got his name on the scoresheet following a number of reverses earlier in the afternoon when teaming up with his son Patrick to take the bumper with Primroseandblue. The 2/1 favourite was ridden up with the pace throughout, and kept on well in the final furlong to beat Six Stone Ned (8/1) by three and a half lengths. Jupitor (14/1) could be one to note next time after coming home strongly in third, while the gambled-on Admiral Hawke (14/1 into 7/1) could find no extra after challenging early in the straight. Willie Mullins said, “I wanted to withdraw him because of the ground (soft to heavy) but Patrick wouldn't let me. He'll go for a maiden hurdle now.”
