Jockey Davy Russell gained a measure of compensation for his final fence fall from the challenging Swift Counsel in the previous race, when winning the Dawn Milk Handicap Chase on Stephen Ryan's Keys Pride at Listowel today.
Russell moved Keys Pride to the front before the final flight, with the pair staying on for a three and a half lengths win over The Phantom Piper
Afterwards winning trainer Ryan, based in Toomevara with eight horses in training, stated “Keys Pride seems to love this place. I wasn't fully happy with her before she ran poorly at Galway but she was back to herself coming here. She's been a great servant but I've no plans from here.”
