Limerick will have to pass an early morning precautionary inspection ahead of the fourth and final day of the Christmas Festival meeting tomorrow.

Officials will inspect the Greenmount Park venue at 7.30am due to the prospect of a further 10-15mm of rain overnight.

The going is currently heavy with the first on a seven-race card, featuring the Grade 2 BoyleSports Sporting Limerick Hurdle, scheduled for 12.20pm.

Meanwhile, officials at Leopardstown are facing a different problem as a decision on further watering of the chase track will be delayed until tomorrow morning.

A revised weather forecast from Met Eireann predicting up to 10mm of rain overnight has put a hold on further watering for the moment.

The going on the chase course is currently yielding, good to yielding in places.

The hurdle/bumper course at Leopardstown is soft, yielding in places. The first on a seven-race card gets underway at mid-day.
