Jamie Powell completed a double when partnering 4/1 co-favourite Pro Bono to win the 1m4f handicap for older horses.

Waited with early on, the eight-year-old moved into third at halfway and was ridden to challenge coming out of the dip. In front inside the final furlong, the Lord Shanakill gelding stayed on well to beat Ciao Adios by two lengths.

Successful over hurdles at Down Royal in June, Cormac Farrell trains the winner for Paddy Hayes who sent him out to score at Dundalk in 2021.

For the season's leading apprentice Powell, whose earlier winner came aboard Fratas the Tramore double was a good pick-me-up after he received an eight-day suspension for careless riding at Galway on Tuesday evening.

"He was good and the race went very smooth for me," said Powell.

"I jumped out and got a nice spot. We were going slow, so I just kind of let him roll along and get closer to the speed. I knew he was going to stay as well and to be fair he was hardy and hit the line well."

"I'm delighted to get the double. I had plenty of good rides coming here today and I was confident that I would get at least one. Beautiful Chaos was probably just a little bit unlucky. The one inside me kind of ran off the bend turning in. I probably lost a few lengths and she was only beaten a nose in the end. It's great to get the double anyway."
