Pour Pavore bounces back to form under Dempsey Pour Pavore stayed on best to land the Ryans Cleaning, Disinfecting, Waste Disposal & Recycling Handicap Hurdle. A well-supported winner at Wexford on his penultimate start, the Gavin Cromwell trained five-year-old disappointed on his most recent outing at Tramore. Sent off an 11/1 chance this afternoon, the son of Pour Moi was settled in mid-division by Luke Dempsey, taking closer order from three out. Pushed along in fifth from the next, the Darren Cahill owned bay was ridden from the last and soon came with his challenge, getting to the front inside the final 100 yards before going on to score by three-parts of a length. Select Opportunity (40s to 28s) finished second under Chris Timmons for Eddie Cawley, while Fancy A Cosmo (5/1) was a length-and-a-half back in third. Perry Owens was sent off the 7/2 favourite and he finished a disappointing sixth. Cromwell said in the aftermath: "He was tough as I thought he'd only finish third or fourth jumping the last but he put his head down and looking at that you'd have to say he'd stay three miles. "He'll keep going for the winter as he goes on that ground." STEWARDS REPORTS * The Stewards enquired into an incident running down the hill involving Son Of Hypnos, ridden by J.C. Gainford, placed fifth and Tenth Amendment, ridden by C.D. Maxwell, unplaced, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C,D. Maxwell stated that he felt pressure on his inside but felt he kept his racing line throughout. J.C. Gainford stated that his mount was running keen down the hill and filled a gap on the inner, but having viewed the incident he accepted that he had caused interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.C. Gainford was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his record they suspended him for 1 raceday. * The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Balkito (FR), trained by Barry Connell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
