The Aidan O’Brien trained Poet put in a good performance after he landed the Hackett’s Bookmakers EBF Irish Cambridgeshire (Premier Handicap) carrying top weight under Sean Levey in the colours of Derrick Smith.
“He’s a tough horse and it was good performance considering he was carrying 10 stone in that ground. Sean gave him a great ride and he’s a big solid horse”, said a delighted O’Brien.
“He is going into Group class now, he’s always being threatening that. He’s come on from every run this year.”
