Connections celebrate after A Case Of You's win in the Al Quoz Sprint© Photo Healy Racing
Ado McGuinness is leaning towards the Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot for A Case Of You despite his star sprinter being third favourite behind Golden Pal and Nature Strip for the King’s Stand Stakes.
The son of Hot Streak has proved a tremendous acquisition for current connections having won the Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp and enjoyed another great payday this spring landing the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan.
“A Case Of You is in the King’s Stand and the Jubilee but at this stage I’d be edging towards the Jubilee,” said McGuinness of the Gary Devlin-owned four-year-old.
“If the ground got real soft he might go for the King’s Stand but he’ll probably wait for the six.
“If it’s five on very fast ground, I think the American and Australian horses are very fast. I’m not saying our horse is slow but it might suit him better and it’s a long year.”
The Lusk trainer could also be represented next week by Ti Sento who caused a 100/1 shock when scoring at Listowel last Sunday.
The Invincible Spirit juvenile put a disappointing debut at Navan behind him by taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden in fine style.
McGuinness continued: “I think I might have put another one on the team with the horse that won at Listowel. I think he’s a very nice horse.
“We are in the process of doing a deal at the moment and if that is done then I’d say he’ll go.
“We gave a good few quid for him (75,000) at the Breeze Ups. He disappointed a bit the first day in Navan but he missed the break and Ronan (Whelan) let him come home.
“Current Option will probably go for a handicap maybe over seven furlongs. He’s slipping down to a nice mark at the moment.”
