Pix readily lands the odds in bumper Altiepix looked the one to beat in the bumper at Tramore, and the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding landed the odds in convincing fashion under Nina Carberry. The French import was sent off the 2/5 favourite having filled the runner-up spot behind another Gigginstown-owned gelding Alpha Des Obeaux over hurdles at Punchestown last month. Carberry needed to stoke him up to lead on the downhill run out of the back straight but the he was well on top inside the final furlong. The four-year-old had six and a half lengths to spare over Delvin Road at the line, with Niamh Machine nearly five lengths further back in third. Carberry said, "It's a bonus to get a bumper win out of him as he is more of a stayer. He just takes a bit of time to pick up and he did it well. He will be a nice jumper." (DM & AM)
