Pista a filly on the up and Listed honours come her way The only filly in the line-up Pista caused a 14/1 surprise in the Listed Vinnie Roe Stakes at Leopardstown. A 675,000 dollar yearling, the daughter of America Pharoah came here on the back of a comprehensive Galway fillies maiden win. Under Shane Crosse the Scott Heider owned three-year-old came from the back down the outer in the straight, mowing down Sunchart near the finish for a half length win. It was the same distance then to odds-on favourite Dawn Patrol in third. “I thought for one minute that it didn't look like she would finish anywhere but Shane said she stayed very well and hit the line well,” said stable representative Brendan Powell. “She's improving all the time, she's still a bit green and I think there is more to come out of her. “Her first run here wasn't bad, she just fell out of the stalls on very quick ground and made up ground towards the end of the race. “In Galway she's done it nicely with more cut in the ground. The lads are saying that's just on the easy side of good today and probably a little bit of cut in the ground suits her. “She's a classy looking filly looking at that today.” (GC & EM)
