So Perfect lunged late to land the spoils in the Grangecon Stud Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon.
The Queen Mary fourth was sent to post the 6/4 favourite for the Group 3 contest and sat in behind the leaders in the six furlong contest.
Ryan Moore asked his mount for an effort over two furlongs for home and she only hit top gear inside the final furlong.
The Ballydoyle filly got up in the last few strides to grab Skitter Scatter and Cava by a half length and the same.
“I'm delighted with her. She had a lovely run in Ascot. She just got drawn a little bit out by herself at Ascot but that was lovely and she was able to get a little bit of cover today,” said Aidan O'Brien.
“Ryan was delighted with her. He said she's not there yet and there is plenty more to come from her.
“She is a fine big strong filly. Ryan said going out that he wasn't going to get there too early.
“She might got to the Cherry Hinton as could Gossamer Wings.
“I think she'll stay further. She's a big strong filly and she'd have to be a bit weak still because she's so big.
“I think Joseph liked his filly and the second filly had a very good run with Sergei (Prokofiev). She's a Scat Daddy so I'd say she'd like fast ground.”
Patrick Prendergast was delighted with the effort of runner-up Skitter Scatter:-
“I’m proud of her and she’s some attitude. He gave her a good ride and I’d say they are good fillies. My filly is only a little thing but she has some attitude.
“I don’t know what I am going to do with her, I have to figure it out yet. I believed she belonged in this company and now I know she does. She had black type and now she has bold type so she’s worth a lot of money.”
