Onenightidreamed wins the Lincolnshire Onenightidreamed took the Irish Lincolnshire on just his fourth career start scoring under Wayne Lordan for Tommy Stack. The four-year-old son of Footstepsinthesand won his maiden on his second outing at Cork in April of last year and then finished third on his handicap debut over the course and distance in May. Fitted with cheekpieces for the first time today he opened on-course at 9/1 before going off an 8/1 chance. Having chased the leaders throughout he was fifth with three furlongs to race. He was ridden to challenge a furlong and a half from home and only got to the front in the final 100 yards, keeping on well to score by a length. Aussie Valentine, who was prominent throughout on the stand side, finished a gallant second under Silvestre De Sousa for Paul Deegan at 20/1. Third Dimension (14/1) was a further four and a half lengths back in third under Colin Keane for Ger Lyons while Queen Of Alba (50/1) completed the placings another length and three parts back in fourth under Rory Clearly for his father Tom. Unsinkable was sent off the well-backed 6/1 favourite but he could only manage a disappointing seventeenth under Tom Madden for Ger Lyons. Fozzy Stack said afterwards: "We were waiting for soft ground all last season, and we were going to run him at Leopardstown near the end of the year but thought if he won it would mess up his handicap mark. "He's not a bad horse and has done little wrong so far in his life. The ground will dictate where we go next and what Mr O'Gorman (handicapper) decides to do."
