The Sean Byrne trained Oilily put her frustrating run of seconds behind her when running out an impressive winner of the Inistoge Maiden Hurdle in the hands of the trainers son and namesake.
Byrne took up the lead entering the straight, the pair soon sprinted clear to record an easy nine length win over Silverlord
A delighted Byrne said afterwards: “She did it today and she did it well.”
“She jumped great and we’ll keep her going throughout the Summer now.”
“We might run her in a mile and six furlong flat race as she has plenty of speed. Galway is also an option for her.”
