Rachael Blackmore's mount Ocean Glandore outbattled Home Place to land the Racing Again July 25th Handicap Chase in Limerick by a length for Denis Hogan.
The 10-year-old gelding rallied and put in a good jump at the last to head Home Place upon touching down.
He had to survive a stewards enquiry after edging left across the runner-up, though, but the length verdict stood.
The winner was a 5/1 chance while the runner-up was 13/2. There was a gap of 20 lengths back to Attalco in third at 12/1.
Rachael Blackmore said: "That's my first winner for Denis and it's great to get one for him. He is playing jockey and trainer at the moment and is doing a fantastic job so all credit to him.
"Denis thought he'd run well today and he was good and tough at the end and the jump at the end sealed it."
The Stewards enquired into possible interference approaching the finishing line involving Ocean Glandore, ridden by Rachael Blackmore and Home Place, ridden by D. Meyler, where it appeared that Ocean Glandore crossed in front of Home Place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action other than to remind Rachel Blackmore of her future responsibilities in this regard.
