O'Sullivan and Foley at double with Slurricane Slurricane came home well in race four at Killarney to seal a double for Ross O'Sullivan and Shane Foley. The 5/1 shot made headway approaching the final quarter of a mile of the Irish Examiner Handicap and came through to dispute the lead a furlong down. He soon got the measure of Gushing, but had to withstand a late flurry from Currumbin. Slurricane kept on best to win by a neck from the 9/1 runner-up as Gushing (9/2) dropped six lengths back to third. O'Sullivan said: "He is a lovely horse, he got gelded last year and it was his first run in a handicap. He concentrated more today and while I was worried about the ground, Dusty (Foley) said he handled it fine. "He had good runs in maidens last year, but probably trained off on his last run. He has improved and will want further. "Dusty said they went very quick today and it fell into his lap, but we were using a jockey who is riding with so much confidence at the moment. "I left tactics to him and at one stage he was five lengths last, but he is on fire. We have him riding work at the Curragh two or three days a week and that is making an awful difference."
