Denis O'Regan doubled his Killarney score when Product Of Love made a lovely chasing bow in the Malton Beginners Chase.
This was a serious achievement on the part of O'Regan seeing as he took a heavy fall in race two when in with every chance at the last on Wonderoftheworld
Product Of Love's win provided some compensation for Wonderoftheworld's owner and trainer, Barry Connell and Alan Fleming.
Thirty five minutes on from his success for Liam Cusack on Lasoscar O'Regan had the point-to-point winner up front using his fluent fencing from the outset. Roconga looked like he might claim him from the last, but Product Of Love pulled out more to win by a length.
They left favourite Bamako Moriviere three and a half lengths back in third.
Unfortunately we lost Fire In Soul after a final fence fall.
Backed from 8/1 into 6/1, Connell said of Product Of Love: "He won his bumper around here when he made all, and also won his point to point, so we knew he jumped well.
"He has a big stride so we said we'd let him bowl along and when he got to the front he relaxed. His jumping was class for a horse first time out over fences and that's what won it for him in the end.
"That's probably his trip but he might get 2m2f. We'll keep him to 2m. We're getting to a stage of the year when if you win your maiden, you're into a Listed chase next.
"He needs good ground and we'll look for a novice chase now.
"I have no doubt in my mind Wonderoftheworld would have won and I think he'd have won three or four lengths. Anyway he is 100 percent and we have him for another day."
A.E. Lynch, rider of Time And Times trained by D.McNamara, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped deliberately.
