Nurburgring dug deep on the run-in to overhaul front-runner Kala Conti in the Grade 3 Bar One Juvenile Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

The two-miler boiled down to the match as the Joseph O'Brien-trained gelding was driven up to tackle Kala Conti at the final flight.

Nurburgring drifted to his right on the run-in, coming close with the eventual runner-up, and got on top close home for a half-length success under Richie Deegan.

The stewards had a look afterwards and the result stood.

It was a second success from three runs over timber for the 17/2 winner with the Zoffany gelding losing his other start in the stewards room at Listowel when narrowly beating Wodhooh.

Neil Sands from Brosnan Racing said:- “It has been an extraordinary week as this has been our third winner in the space of seven days which is very special.

“However, it is a win tinged with sadness as the Marnanes from Bansha House are our partners who have sadly lost Theresa Marnane.

“I was particularly touched by the minute silence here yesterday for Theresa which was observed with such sincerity.”

7/4 favourite Batman Girac ran freely under Paul Townend before hanging badly turning for home, eventually finishing a well-beaten seventh.
