No sleeping on the job from Snooze French-bred Snooze enjoyed the trip and ground at Cork as he landed a comprehensive victory in the two mile five beginners’ chase at 25/1. Sue Bramall trains the six-year-old gelding and her representative Mike Stanners said: “A year ago he won a two and a half mile race in France in similar conditions. “He obviously relishes soft ground. We wouldn’t be afraid to step him up in trip.” Indeed it was step up in trip that brought about an improvement in form. On his Irish debut at Wexford in October in a two miles one chase he was eased when not in contention after two out. He finished sixth of 13 there. Snooze was always in the front-rank today. When his co-leader Troll D’Oudairies fell three out, Snooze and Ian McCarthy pulled well clear of Mini Vic (13/2) and won by 18 lengths. Fernhurst Lad completed the placings in third at 7/2.
