The Dan Byrne Memorial Handicap Hurdle was won by 14/1 chance No Show in the hands of Phillip Enright.

A winner on the level at Clonmel a couple of years ago, the six-year-old had been fourth in a similar contest at Tramore on his most recent start and turned around that form with the three rivals who were in front of him on that occasion.

Having made good headway from rear of mid-division on the downhill run to the straight, he was in fourth when switched off the rail turning for home and soon closed on the leaders. In front at the last, the Showcasing gelding was ridden out to beat Banada Bridge by a length.

Jimmy Mangan, who trains the winner for the Jimmy Mangan Racing Club, said: "All the credit has to go to Phillip Enright. I thought after his run at Kilbeggan that the show was over because I was so disgusted with him. Phillip said draw a line through that race, if you never put me up on him again I don't mind because I gave him a terrible ride. I said to Phillip we will go again but there is no one else riding him only you.

"He ran well in Tramore and we came on to here then.

"He won't come out of stalls and is probably finished with Flat racing. Phillip thinks there is another race in him as long as the handicapper isn't too hard on him."
