No Pressure Pat found plenty for pressure to edge out Dromore Lad in the three mile handicap hurdle at Wexford.

He was ridden along by Cillin Leonard before the second last upsides Dromore Lad.

The two had the race to themselves on the run to the final flight where No Pressure Pat grabbed a narrow lead.

Dromore Lad (7/2) rallied on the run-in but Leonard drove the 11/4 favourite up by a head. Ancient Empire (13/2) was seven and a half lengths back in third.

Handler Pat Fahy said: "He is progressing. Maybe they were only hacking there, he never got tired but he nearly got done for a bit of toe. Maybe he needs more of a gallop to burn them off a bit more.

"I might run him again next Friday in Down Royal in another three-mile race, if he comes out of this well. I'll give him a nice break then after that.

"If we run him again so soon he'll do nothing in between but if we give him three weeks of a break we'll have to work him hard to get him back to fitness. It's a catch-22.

Both No Pressure Pat and Dromore Lad arrived today on the back of victories at Tipperary and Fairyhouse respectively.
