Jockey Paddy Flood's injury sustained in yesterday's Grand National proved very costly at Limerick today, where the Kildare rider missed out on the winning rides on the first two winners.
Andrew McNamara was the main beneficiary on The Tartan Army in the opener, while Paul Townend replaced Flood on Faltering Fullback who landed the Munster V Ospreys Hurdle.
Faltering Fullback made all for a game three and a half lengths win over Sanglote
Afterwards Faltering Fullback's trainer Eric McNamara reported "he is a nice horse although it was important to ride him prominently over this two miles trip today. Paul (Townend) gave him a super ride, but we've come to expect that with him now."
He added "Faltering Fullback is a fine big copey horse and will make a lovely chaser."
