Brog Deas leads home Samollie and Equity Swap© Photo Healy Racing
Brog Deas has been produced nicely by Pat Flynn and his team to flourish since entering handicap company and the son of Arakan shrugged off the burden of ten stone three to score for the second time in six days in the Dundalk Stadium
Handicap.
Danny Grant got his mount to the front under two furlongs out and he held off the challenge of the admirably consistent Samollie by two lengths.
The gambled-on Equity Swap (8/1 this morning into 100/30) missed the break but he got himself into contention under duress in the straight. He couldn't raise his effort when the need was greatest though and ended up a length and a quarter back in third. Tommy Stack's charge looks a certain future winner on this evidence.
Danny Grant said afterwards: "He’s (Brog Deas) a tough little horse and he's improving all the time. He did well to carry that weight though I wouldn't say it was as good a race as at Gowran." (MG & EM)
