Down In Neworleans produced a gutsy front-running performance to make a winning debut over fences in the beginners chase at Roscommon.
It was a first winner over the larger obstacles for Danny Mullins, who was teaming up with his mother Mags.
The son of Saddlers' Hall was backed at 5/1 this morning and was eventually sent off the 13/8 favourite.
The gelding jumped well at the head of affairs and found plenty when Gudnis Gracious Me threw down a challenge at the last, edging ahead close home for a length-and-a-quarter verdict.
The winner is set for the sales ring now at Doncaster:- "He could be a right horse yet and if he is not sold he could come back for Galway," said Mags Mullins.
