Nevskij produced a fine front-running performance to land the hunters chase at Punchestown.

Eoin O'Brien bounced out in front on Paul O'Flynn's charge and he responded gamely in the closing stages to make a winning return after a year absence.

The well-backed 10/3 favourite Quiet Account (8/1 in morning) tried to throw down a challenge going to the last but could only get within two-and-a-quarter lengths of the 7/1 winner.

It was a first winner 'on the track' since April 2014 for trainer O'Flynn while O'Brien was partnering his third winner under rules having had his last in January 2014.

O'Flynn, who trains the gelding for his father Thomas said:-

“It’s good to get him back as he was out for a year with a leg problem.

“At this level he’s a good horse and, if he comes out of this okay, he could go to Down Royal after Christmas.”
