Tommy Stack’s Nero Emperor was an impressive all-the-way winner of the opening five furlong juvenile maiden on Dundalk’s card.
Wayne Lordan made full use of his low draw in stall four to jump out and make all. The pair were still travelling strongly two furlongs out and powered clear of their 13 rivals in the final furlong to win uncontested by five-and-a-half lengths at 15/2.
9-10 favourite Wasabi’s House took the runner-up berth for John Oxx and Johnny Murtagh while Feathers And Bows for David Wachman and Seamie Heffernan were a neck away in third at 17/2.
Winning jockey Wayne Lordan explained the improvement in his charge’s form after he was seventh at Dundalk last time out. He said: “The last day we were a bit worried about the trip [six furlongs] and we sat him in a bit, but he was a bit keen.
“He’s back to his right trip today. I let him use his speed.”
