Curragh trainer Michael Grassick is to replace Willie Mullins at the helm of the Racehorse Trainers Association.
Mullins along with his vice-chairman Edward O`Grady are standing down having served two three-year terms.
Grassick (49) has been involved in the politics of racing for a number of years and has previously served on the association`s committee.
His vice-chairman will be Champion National Hunt trainer Noel Meade.
The pair will be officially elected to their positions at the AGM of the association next Monday.
One of the first jobs the pair will tackle in office is finding a replacement for retiring secretary Tony Redmond.
His position has been upgraded to that of chief executive and applicants are to be interviewed shortly.
