Murphy stars on the way back

Colm Murphy is looking forward to getting former Champion Hurdler Brave Inca back to action in the Hatton's Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Sunday, while the promising Zaarito will make his eagerly awaited hurdling debut soon.

Brave Inca has been part of a golden era of Irish-trained hurdlers over the past decade, and his twelve career wins include two victories at the Cheltenham Festival ? Supreme Novices ('05) and Champion Hurdle ('06) ? along with the 'Hatton's Grace' two years ago.

However a tendon injury has kept the Good Thyne gelding off the track since the spring of 2007 when he filled the runner-up spot behind Sublimity at Cheltenham before being soundly beaten when upped to three miles at the Punchestown Festival.

'I'm looking forward to getting him back on the track. He will certainly come on for the run but we have to start him somewhere. The original plan was to go to Punchestown for the two mile Maplewood Developments Hurdle but that just came too soon,' said the Co. Wexford-based trainer.

Murphy also had news of Zaarito, unbeaten in three bumper outings before finishing third to Cousin Vinny when favourite for the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in March.

'He was entered for the Royal Bond but has been held up with a few little problems. He's okay now and will start off soon over hurdles in a maiden,' said Murphy.
