Trainer Pat Murphy is hoping to eventually attain black-type with his Craft Irish (4/5f), as the filly today got off the mark in Dundalk's View Restaurant At Dundalk Stadium Maiden.

Runner-up at 66/1 on debut at today's venue last month, the daughter of Adaay was again ridden by Nathan Crosse and while pushed along entering the home straight, quickened in the closing stages for an easy-at-the-line win from Cristal Clere

Murphy later said “she's a nice filly and we knew at home she was very nice but we thought she'd be green the first day.

“She did very well today because the race didn't go great for her - she got a bump, ran a bit keen then, and got caught out wide. Things didn't go right and she still came home very strong.

“We knew tonight she'd be bang on there. He took his time, he said they went a lot faster tonight so it's a bit of a wake up call because sometimes races are run differently so you can't be too presumptuous.

“She did it well and the penny was still dropping as she was coming home. I think she'll stay a mile, it looked like that there.

“I'd say we might wait for the turf with her and see what's around. We think she might be able to get black-type so that's what we'll be aiming for.”
