Red Heel (9/1) is a filly in form and built on her recent win at Bellewstown by taking the RACE Academy Apprentice Handicap.

The daughter of Dylan Thomas showed good ‘gate speed’ to get over from stall fifteen and she soon raced in second place.

Sam Ewing sent her to the front over a furlong out and she kept on well under a hands and heels ride to beat Fit for Function (17/2) by half a length.

Also successful at Dundalk in January, the 4-year-old, owned and bred by Aidan Archdeacon, has now won three of her last four starts.

Winning trainer Mick Mulvany said: “I thought she won easily the last day and the owners were anxious enough to come to Leopardstown, they wanted to get a mark as they are breeders.

“I'd like to go to Gowran Park with her on Saturday week for a fillies’ race but it depends what the handicapper does.

“It'll be either that or Galway, we'll discuss it with the owners when things cool down a bit.”
