They'd unfortunately lost Giant Spirit earlier in the evening but the Willie Mullins team rounded off the programme on the right note at Clonmel with Suinda taking the Friday June 8th BBQ (Mares) INH Flat Race under owner Luke McMahon's son Aubrey.
She slightly impeded third home Three Thirds when drifting left over a furlong out, and after a steward's enquiry she was confirmed the two and a quarter length and short head scorer over Whatucallher and her aforementioned opponent.
Bred by Mullins' brother Tony, Suinda was winning on her second start, 246 days on from a debut Listowel third placing.
"She has got a long stronger since she ran at Listowel and she is a nice mare. She is a sister to Ma Garrett and that's the reason we bought her," said the winning rider.
Regarding going on summer ground, he added "you don't know until you find out and we found out today."
Mr J.C. Barry, rider of Dylan Rock trained by Sean O. O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung through out.
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Suinda, ridden by Mr A. McMahon, placed first, Three Thirds, ridden by Mr D.T. McGrath, placed third and Whatucallher, ridden by Mr F. Maguire placed second.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings.
They were, however, of the opinion that Mr A. McMahon was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for 1 raceday
