The Madra Dog Food 21st Anniversary Novice Hurdle provided punters with a thrilling finish with the 7/4 favourite The Midnight Club under Emmet Mullins getting up in the closing stages beating the Paul Nolan trained Sam Adams by ? length.
"Emmet [Mullins] gave him a cool ride, he's not afraid to wait and he knows the horse inside out and has great confidence in him. The horse was very keen early on and Emmet rode him on the outside to keep him away from the other horses" said Willie Mullins winning trainer.
Mullins also added, "He loves soft ground and a trip so hopefully someday he'll make a Grand National horse."
