The Thomas Mullins trained Lucky Out justified favouritism when staying on strongly to open her account at the fifth time of asking in the Caulfield Industrial Irish EBF Maiden at Galway.
A consistent filly, who had been placed twice prior to today, the daughter of Unfortunately also picked up valuable handicap experience on her most recent start at Leopardstown.
Well away under Seamie Heffernan, the 7/4f sat in the box seat as No Knee Never took them along under Declan McDonogh.
Moving up to dispute entering the straight, Heffernan led on Lucky Out over a furlong from the finish, staying on strongly to record a two-and-a-quarter length win from the staying on Future Cutlet
Seamie Heffernan said: "This filly has been running to credit all year. She has run well in Curragh and Leopardstown maidens. She has been running well while still being a bit weak.
"She might just have a future.
"I got a good early position and she kept going nicely up the hill."
Trainer Thomas Mullins added: "She is a really nice, honest and uncomplicated filly and it was grand to have Seamie again today as nobody else has ridden her. He gave her a lovely ride.
"They jumped out and went hard for the first furlong but it is now an epidemic in races where they go 500 miles in the first furlong and then jack it up until the last furlong, which is a bit annoying, but Seamie was on top of it. He rode behind Joseph's (O'Brien, with No Knee Never) and she won well.
"She is a half-sister to group horses in Italy, she isn't the biggest but is plenty big for the flat and is very honest and easy to train."
