Willie Mullins has five runners in today’s BoyleSports Irish Grand National but he likes the chances of Agusta Gold who has winning form at Fairyhouse and who should enjoy a sounder surface.
Mullins, who won his first BoyleSports Irish Grand National with Burrows Saint in 2019, said: "Absolutely delighted to win it with Burrows Saint for Rich Ricci and Ruby Walsh, and we have a nice hand going there this time. Hopefully one of them can get through.
"I love track form every day of the week and Agusta Gold has got it here. Also her pedigree would suggest she wants better ground, well I'm hoping that.
"With that in mind we bought her for those long-distance chases i.e. the Irish National and the English National and she gets a crack at the Irish National here. I think she could be well in."
This is Agusta Gold's first run for Mullins having won five races for Mags Mullins, including a Grade 3 mares' chase over an extended two miles five furlongs at Fairyhouse on her penultimate start in January.
Agusta Gold currently trades around 10/1 and will be ridden by Danny Mullins. Mullins' other runners are Brahma Bull Salsaretta Dragon D'estruval and Robin De Carlow
