Sweet Flight swooped inside the final furlong of the bumper to given Willie Mullins a first and last race double at Wexford this evening.
The German-bred newcomer was sent to post a 7/4 shot for the two-miler and came under pressure in third turning for home.
He stuck on well for Patrick Mullins and got on terms inside the final furlong, going on in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-half winning margin over Choungaya
The winner had been easy to back before racing (13/8 to 3/1) but was supported again on course.
Patrick Mullins said:- "He was a little green but got a nice gap on the inside. Once he knew what I was asking him to do he picked up well.
“I think he will come for it mentally, because at home he hasn't been showing that, so obviously he is better on the track. He is German bred and he should handle softer ground as well. He'll stay further no problem."
Mullins had also claimed the opening novice hurdle with Exchange Rate
