Having failed to make any impression when tailed off on heavy ground on her racecourse debut back in March, the Willie Mullins trained La Note Verte showed herself to be far better than that form when easily winning the concluding Oliver Broderick(Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Listowel.

A daughter of Australia, the Simon Munir and Isaac Souede owned filly, was well supported from 4/1 down to half those odds.

Sent to the front by Patrick Mullins from the off, the four-year-old was always travelling comfortably at the head of affairs, clearly appreciating the drying ground on this occasion.

As with a couple of previous winners on the day, Patrick Mullins came wide into the straight, pressing ahead as Pure Logic emerged from the pack to throw down a challenge.

Getting the better of that particular argument over a furlong from home, Patrick Mullins went clear on La Note Verte to win by six-and-a-half lengths.

Patrick Mullins said: "She hated the ground first-time out and is a real summer mare. She is not very big, is light-boned and will run away during the summer.

"I think as racing went on today, they were going wider and wider and with no chases and six hurdle races, it was getting more chewed up than normal. There was no pace, she was fit and had a run so I decided to go on and it worked out.

"I think there is a bit more there with her and I imagine she will go jumping now, although she might strengthen up with a break so we'll see what Willie thinks."
