The Willie Mullins trained Nambour under Paul Townend, maintained his unbeaten three-race point-to-point/bumper/maiden hurdle record when justifying lobsided 1/4 favouritism in the 20 runner Like Fairyhouse On Facebook Maiden Hurdle (Div II) at Fairyhouse today.
The race also featured the Dermot Weld trained ex-Flat performer Timiyan which cost E470,000 in September 2014, never looked like threatening as Nambour, which had been backed at all rates from 4/5 yesterday, went clear in the home straight for a comfortable win over Cahirconree
Afterwards Mullins stated "he gallops and jumps, and we'll go out in trip with him straight away. I'm looking forward to fences with him rather than this job."
